WHERE GRATITUDE GROWS CHALLENGES YOU…

To Notice What You Usually Take for Granted

There are things we rely on so completely that we sometimes stop noticing them.

We notice the electricity when the power goes out.

We appreciate hot water when there isn’t any.

We think about our health when we don’t feel well.

And sometimes we fully recognize what someone brings to our life only when they are no longer there.

But we don’t have to wait for something to be missing before we appreciate it.

This week, Where Gratitude Grows challenges you to notice one thing each day that you usually take for granted.

It might be the clean water flowing from your faucet.

The bed waiting for you at the end of the day.

A body that carries you from one place to another.

A person who answers when you call.

The ordinary routines that make your life feel steady.

Each day, choose one.

Pause long enough to recognize how it supports your life, brings you comfort, or makes something easier.

Say aloud if you can:

“Today, I am grateful for…”

And if the thing you appreciate is a person, consider telling them.

At the end of the week, notice whether the ordinary parts of your life feel a little less ordinary.

Gratitude doesn’t always begin with something extraordinary.

Sometimes it begins by finally seeing what has been there all along.

Are you up for the challenge?

So grab that yarn, look at the familiar parts of your life with fresh eyes, and appreciate something before you have a reason to miss it.

You’ve got this.
