The Whole Picture

A Quiet Moment from Where Gratitude Grows.

The older I get, the less interested I am in deciding whether people are good or bad.

I've learned that most of us are both.

Capable of hurting others...

and capable of loving them deeply.

We carry our regrets alongside our kindness.

Our fears alongside our courage.

Our mistakes alongside our best intentions.

I hope when my own life is remembered, people won't judge me by my worst decision...

or my best one alone.

I hope they'll see the whole person.

Someone who loved fiercely, yet imperfectly.

Someone who made mistakes, yet never stopped trying to learn from them.

Someone who tried to extend grace...

to others...

and, eventually,

to herself.

Perhaps the greatest gift we can offer one another... is the whole picture
